Moving Tips
As a general rule of thumb, you should pack your heavier items in smaller boxes to make them more manageable for lifting and loading. For your lighter items, larger boxes are perfect for packing so you can get as many items in as possible without fearing that the box may get too heavy.
It's a good idea to pad the bottom, top, and sides of your boxes with a few inches of newspaper or some form of padding when packing fragile items. This will insure that your belongings will be protected, situated, and ready for loading for the movers.
For power and garden tools with sharp edges, be sure to wrap them appropriately to avoid any possible damage to your other belongings. Some power tools come with their own sturdy cases, but if you don't have any, make sure to disassemble what you can, remove any sharp parts, and pack them separately into another box or container. For any poled tools such as rakes, you can just tape them together.
No matter how detailed your moving plan is, there's bound to be some hiccup along the way. More times than not, it's usually because of some forgotten task on your to-do list.
